MOOSE FOUNDATION

At Moose we feel we have a duty to use our resources and assets to drive social and environmental change. As a small business we are keen to develop methods of support for charitable causes and environmental campaigns that are a fit to Moose’s values and philanthropic focus. We aim to empower staff, customers, suppliers and stakeholders to engage in fundraising activities.

The Moose Foundation is in its infancy and we very much hope it will become a real force for change as Moose continues to grow.

To date we have raised over £20,000 for the following charities;
Whitechapel Centre | Hideaway Project | Asylum Links | Comic Relief | The Walton Centre Charity | Open Arms | Red Cross Ukraine Appeal | St. Georges Crypt | AKT | Vibe Youth Charity

Moose Foundation is a registered charity with LCVS for full transparency. Charity number: 223485

 SUPPLIERS

Keeping it local

We are proud of our long lasting relationships with our suppliers, over the last seventeen years we have used local and ethical suppliers based in and around the North West wherever possible. It’s great to support the local economy but helps the environment too through the reduction of our carbon footprint. It is important to us that our suppliers comply with the same ethical practices we do.

Quality is of vital importance to us, we meet with suppliers face to face to sample products, ensure high standards and enhance relationships. We think it important you know where the food you eat has come from…

 SUSTAINABILITY

Climate change is real and we understand the importance of sustainability, as a business we have a corporate, social and ethical responsibility to do our bit to help the environment. That’s why we are undertaking a Sustainable Practice Strategy which will set achievable and aspirational targets each year. As well as highlighting our current ethical and green practices we are constantly looking for ways to improve.

- All our stores use 100% biodegradable paper straws for drinks and 100% compostable smoothie straws
- All our stores serve soft drinks in glass bottles, reducing plastic usage
- Our produce is locally sourced were possible
- Our Moose Coffee blend is Fairtrade
- Our eggs are all Free Range
- We continue to expand our Vegan range on our menu
- Our waste is sorted and recycled after collection
- All Moose stores are registered refill stations, allowing anyone to refill their water bottles in store free of charge, instead of buying a new one. Making it easier to reuse your bottle and fighting against single use plastic.

As we continue to strive towards becoming more sustainable we will set aims and targets each year so there are clear, achievable goals to work towards. Within stores we will be appointing ‘Green Team’ members who have a responsibility over energy efficiency and monitor waste. They have objectives and targets regarding things like plastic usage, energy consumption, and reducing the use of paper in stores. By appointing a ‘Green Team’ we hope to see a significant change in our sustainability ethos amongst our staff and as a company this is only the beginning…
